Opening its doors in 2016, the Peermont Hotel School is the first of its kind in Ekurhuleni. Based at the illustrious Emperors Palace, the initiative is part of the ongoing responsibility of the Peermont Community Benefit Trust to uplift and develop the youth through skills development.

In association with the Celo Creative Concepts and Consulting, we identified an opportunity to establish a hotel school which offers recognised CATHSSETA skills programmes in three disciplines: Chef, Waitron and Housekeeper.

Aimed at marginalized youth (especially child headed households and vulnerable youth), the core focus is providing skills development, practical experience and tangible knowledge in order to access the marketplace. All students will receive a full bursary once selected and we provide the platform for them to become employable and support their families. The training is based on a value system that will equip students with much needed life skills for the future, as well as entrepreneurial skills to ensure they have the correct foundation to take their future into their own hands.

The courses are conducted over a 4 month period and is divided as follows:

• 2 months at the school

• 2 months within Emperors Palace

The Peermont Hotel School is built on the value system of Peermont, and believes in making a difference with a hands-on approach that empowers from a grassroots level. With its own identity, image and purpose we are proud to have an establishment that the public and potential contributors and investors have something to identify with.
